The Ark Daycare & Preschool Ministry at Middletown Church of the Nazarene
Job Purpose: This part time position works in a variety of capacities to meet the needs of all Ark staff and children.
This includes offering breaks, helping with meals, filling in for teachers, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
This individual is expected to be flexible, hard-working, and able to bend and lift easily.
The individual in this position must have clear and concise communication with all families and staff.
They must also be quick on their feet, in order to keep order in classrooms and must follow the rules of each class.
The purpose of this position is to fill in the gaps for our program in a way that encompasses our values of love & compassion, and growth & education, in order to institute family life transformation.
Primary Job Responsibilities
* Warmly greeting parents during drop off and pickup
* Carrying out lesson plans
* Following parent instructions, medication administration, infant care, and developmental guidelines
* Participating in age appropriate care and play, including, but not limited to floor play, diapering, and bottle feeding
* Completing diaper changes when children are in need of them and at a minimum of every two hours
* Documenting incidents or health concerns with the Director and parents
* Maintaining a tidy and sanitary space in each classroom, including tables, toys, and materials
* Documenting all diaper changes, food / bottles taken, activities, and other aspects of each child’s day
* Supporting the mission of The Ark
* Engaging with children by participating in activities, projects, and bonding activities
* Maintaining a daily walk with Christ and Christian attitude and lifestyle
* Maintaining a classroom and care environment consistent with Indiana’s childcare regulations
* Any other duties deemed necessary by the Director, Assistant Director, or Church Board
Key Working Relationships
* Directly report to The Ark Daycare Director
* Utilization of Assistant Teacher
* Co-professionals with all teachers at The Ark
* Partner with member of the ministry team of Middletown Church of the Nazarene
Physical Requirements
* Able to lift 50 pounds
* Extended floor crawling and kneeling
* Varied time standing and sitting
* Ability to lift infants in and out of cribs
Education & Qualifications
* A love for learning, children, and Jesus Christ
* High School Diploma / GED
* Willingness to grow as an early childhood educator through continuing education and professional development
Required education
* High school or equivalent
*Pre-employment requirements: Successfully pass background check, Universal Precautions training, & Fingerprinting*

Pay: From $10.
