*Summary/objective*
The Front Desk Specialist (FDS) serves as the first impression of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie (BGC) for visitors, members, guests, and parents.
This role is responsible for the reception area of BGC and performs a variety of clerical duties in support of the BGC.
*Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

· Every staff member is expected to cultivate and maintain positive donor, member, and community relationships.
· Provide excellent customer service by greeting visitors, directing them to their destination, answering questions, and creating a welcoming environment.
· Answer and screen telephone calls, transferring them to the appropriate staff, and taking detailed messages as appropriate.
· Escort kids to parent/guardian cars as needed.
· Collect member payments and provide receipts as requested.
Submit payments to the appropriate supervisor at the end of each shift.
· Maintain and keep up to date the club calendars, and assist with updating the office television communications so that staff, family, and members are informed of activities happening at BGC.
· Assist with volunteers and special events as needed.
· Assist with computer data input for grants and track attendance.
· Participate in meetings as appropriate, and communicate effectively, in written form and verbally with internal and external constituents.
· Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events as appropriate and/or requested by supervisor, Programs Director, and/or CEO.
Work environment Able to stand and/or walk up to 25% of time.
Able to sit up to 50% of the time.
Able to view a computer monitor for 6-8 hours per day.
Some travel may be required in company or personal vehicle.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
The role is an on-site role and is not eligible for a WFH/hybridized work schedule.
· Employee required to possess a valid driver’s license and is occasionally required to transport members in a company vehicle.
· Proof of vehicle insurance is required.
Education and/or Experience
· HS diploma or GED is required.
Some college coursework in communications, business, finance, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to work with teams, at-risk youth, parents, and community leaders.
· General knowledge of and experience working with at-risk populations is preferred.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, as are excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of organization.
· Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
· Working knowledge of computers and systems is required, including and not limited to, Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Power Point (or similar product knowledge).
· High level of confidentiality and professionalism are required.
