SunRise 850 flat base solar attic fan.
Install it on the sloped roof of house (ideally south-facing), and it’ll suck the hot air out of your attic.
I purchased this unit from the manufacturer about 10-12 years ago, used it for 3 years, until I had my attic insulated on the inside of the rafters (which meant the fan no longer had any purpose).
I just took it out into the sun, and the fan immediately started turning.
It did a great job of pulling hot air out of my attic on sunny days, which is when the heat is an issue! The simple mechanism means there’s no maintenance and little that can go wrong with it.
Details:
- 11 watts
- Original price was $450
- No wiring required!
- Base measures 24.
5" x 24.
5"
- The underside of the base has remnants of black silicone caulk used to create a tight seal on the roof.
When the fan is reinstalled, that won’t be an issue, as the new caulk will create a new seal.
As the photos show, the fan and wiring are clean.
SunRise solar fans are made in the U.
S.
, by an Indiana company (great people with lots of integrity about how they do business).
